BF:BC2 finally works

I finally got this game to work today. I had to go into my routers settings and set the firewall to low from medium. I use Eircom broadband so this will definitely work for Eircom users. It should be the same in principle for any other person using a router.

  • First, find your router IP. Run cmd (type cmd and enter in start-run, or find it in All Programs-Accessories )
  • Type in “ipconfig” and note the IP on Default gateway
  • type in a Internet browser “http://your Default gateway IP”, for example http://324.446.2.46 then enter
  • On the left, go into the firewall settings and set it to low.

This lets me connect to any server, and I have had no problems at all with disconnections in mid-game.

I am very ashamed of myself for forgetting how angry and resentful I was towards EA. There are still many, many people who cant connect to a game they spent alot of money for. It is worth trying to reconfigure your router to get it to work, because it is a brilliant game. It is what I expected it to be, and I know I will be playing this for a good while.

If your from Ireland, or anywhere else and this works for you, let me know.
